Using a cotton setting , iron directly onto silk for 2-3 minutes. This will heat fix the dyes.
Soak silk in a warm bowl of water with a small amount of washing up liquid for 5 mins. This will dissolve the gutta resist and any salt used, leaving the fabric soft.
Rinse silk with cold water.
Towel dry to take out excess water from silk.
Iron damp directly onto the silk with a cotton setting.
Silk should feel soft and smooth, outlines will look whiter. The silk is now ready to be framed, made into a hanging or a cushion!
